WELCOME TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE TWIN LAKES CRUISERS CAR CLUB. 

WE ARE PLEASED TO HAVE SO MANY RETURNING MEMBERS WHO HAVE BEEN WITH US FOR SEVERAL YEARS, AND WE EXTEND A WARM WELCOME TO ALL NEW MEMBERS JOINING US FOR A FUN FILLED UPCOMING SEASON OF CRUISIN AND CAR SHOWS.

AS MOST OF YOU KNOW THE 2011 CRUISIN SEASON STARTED EARLY IN MAY ON A VERY CHILLY EVENING.  WE PERSEVERED AND ALTHOUGH WE DID HAVE A COUPLE OF RAIN NIGHTS, MOST FRIDAY EVENINGS WERE WARM, SOME EVEN HOT AND OUR CRUISE NIGHTS WERE REALLY WELL ATTENDED.  WE HAD LOTS OF UNIQUE AND GEORGEOUS VEHICLES.    FEEDBACK FROM MEMBERS AND GUESTS WAS MOSTLY POSITIVE ON A GREAT WEEKLY SHOW WITH LOTS OF ACTIVITY, PRIZES & OF COURSE A PLEASANT SOCIAL ATMOSPHERE.   WE AGAIN MUST THANK OUR EXECUTIVE FOR A GREAT JOB WELL DONE.

HIGH-LITES OF THE SEASON WERE SEVERAL CRUISES IN SUPPORT OF OTHER CAR CLUB SPONSORED EVENTS WHICH WERE WELL ATTENDED BY TWIN LAKES CRUISER MEMBERS.  FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW, THERE IS A WEEKLY POSTING AT THE DESK SHOWING UPCOMING CRUISE DESTINATIONS AND DEPARTURE TIMES.  CHECK IT OUT & JOIN IN, IT’S ALWAYS ENJOYABLE.

SOMETHING THAT WAS NEW FOR THIS PAST WINTER SEASON WAS A GET TOGETHER EVERY FRIDAY EVENING AT TIM HORTONS LOCATED AT WEST RIDGE PLAZA.  THIS TURNED OUT TO BE VERY SUCCESSFUL, WELL ATTENDED & HELPED TO KEEP CLUB MEMBERS IN CONTACT WITH EACH OTHER OVER THE WINTER MONTHS.  I BELIEVE THIS WILL CARRY ON FOR NEXT WINTER, SO IF YOU HAVE AN OPEN FRIDAY NIGHT, DROP IN HAVE A COFFEE & A FEW LAUGHS.

WE AGAIN HELD OUR ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND CHRISTMAS PARTY/YEAR END EVENT AT THE JARRATT HALL, BOTH WERE WELL ATTENDED AND ARE A GOOD WAY TO GET BETTER AQUAINTED WITH YOUR FELLOW CLUB MEMBERS.   SO IF YOU MISSED OUT, BE SURE TO JOIN IN FOR 2012.   THE LOCATION AGAIN WILL BE THE JARRATT HALL THEY WILL BE POT LUCK AND AS FOLLOWS:

ONCE AGAIN WE ARE ASKING THE MEMBERSHIP TO JOIN IN, VOLUNTEER FOR HELPING WITH GATE, TICKETS, REGISTRATION DESK AND OTHER DUTIES. 

VOLUNTEERS CAN CONTACT VINCE AUBE FOR POSITIONING AT CRUISE NIGHTS AND THERE WILL BE A SIGN UP BOOK/CALENDAR AT THE DESK FOR YOU TO MARK DOWN THE DATE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER.  WE HAVE A GOOD GROUP OF MEMBERS AND WITH HELP IT WILL MAKE THE SEASON MORE ENJOYABLE FOR ALL.

SEVERAL OF THE EXECUTIVE HAVE SERVED OUR CLUB FOR MANY YEARS AND HAVE BEEN TIRELESS WORKERS AND CONTRIBUTORS TO ONE OF THE BEST CAR SHOWS IN THE AREA.  WE WILL BE ASKING MEMBERS TO STEP UP PUT YOUR NAME FORWARD FOR THE 2013 SEASON EXECUTIVE POSTIONS.  REMEMBER NEW PEOPLE & NEW IDEAS = IMPROVED CLUB.

AS A REMINDER, WE ARE ALWAYS OPEN TO NEW IDEAS AND OR CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM.  YOUR COMMENTS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME AND CAN HELP TO IMPROVE THE CLUB.  THE PROPER WAY TO MAKE SURE THIS HAPPENS IS TO PUT PEN TO PAPER – WRITE DOWN YOUR THOUGHTS WITH SIGNATURE AND PLACE IN THE SUGGESTION BOX AT THE DESK.   VERBAL IDEAS CAN BECOME LOST BEFORE THEY ARE PROPERLY CONSIDERED BY THE EXECUTIVE.

NEWS LETTER VOLUME 1       APRIL 10, 2011

The first meeting of the TLCC was held Friday April 8^th.  It was like going to the car show , dedicated car people but no cars.  That situation will be remedied starting Friday May 6^th as that is the official kick off date for the regular car show at Home Depot . The shows are scheduled to run every Friday up to and including September 30/11, so get your favourite classic ready to go.

Once again for this season the executive have already been making plans to ensure that each & everyone can have an enjoyable cruise night with fellow car crazy members, also plans are in the works to cruise to other club car events, these will be posted on the board located at the registration desk each & every Friday night, so be sure to take a look at the information board each cruise night to ensure that you are able to make plans to go with the club to any events that you choose.  Events will also be announced over the PA system and posted on the Web Site www.twinlakescruisers.com.

The meeting opened with introduction by club president John Bull with  outline of this years plans for the club. Club membership is off to a great start, sponsors are in place, web site is being updated, advertisement in Old Autos is done, insurance policy is current, parking lot layout has been finalized, annual general meeting & Christmas party are being set up, dates to been announced as soon as hall times are confirmed.

The club will be looking for volunteers to assist with a variety of tasks to ensure that each car show runs smoothly , things like set up, greeting & giving out draw tickets at the gate, assisting with parking,  helping at the registration desk etc.  There are only 22 nights , do not miss the opportunity to become more involved with your club.  Contact Vince Aube & he will schedule you in for a position either one night or several, it’s up to each member, so don’t miss out.
